4 Popular Eyebrow Shapes to Consider

Eyebrow Threading

Posted by Jennifer Ngo at June 26th, 2020

Thinking of getting some eyebrow threading or microblading done? Before you do, you’ll want to have at least some idea of what type of shape, thickness, and color you’d like your brows to have. Looking at eyebrow trends can be helpful, but we all know how fast trends can come and go.  Here at Chic Lash Boutique, we recommend looking at various popular eyebrow shapes and how they look on different facial structures and shapes. This will help you see popular options that can work for you and your unique & beautiful face!  Here, we’re going over just a few eyebrow shape options. Let’s get into it!

1. Structured Brow with Sharp Arches

A structured brow is all the rage right now. Sharper arches add some great definition, which is a great match for those with round face shapes or with less defined cheekbones. It’s up to you where the arch appears. Do you like the arch in the middle of the brow? Or near the tail end? More or less dramatic? Each of these can add definition and lengthen your face shape, too. Speak with your brow artist to see what they think about the arch placement and if sharper, structured brows would work for you. Here are a few examples of structured brows with sharp arches:

2. Straight & Linear Brows

We don’t all have the brow bone or the desire to have such sharp arches and structure in our brows. If your brows grow in somewhat linearly, you can roll with it! Forcing an arch when there isn’t one can end up looking a bit too artificial, so be careful not to go overboard on that front. Straight or linear brow shape with little arch or curve is a great look for those with longer, diamond-shaped faces. Brows that are too structured or arched with these types of faces can end up making the face appear longer and flatter.  Straight brows allow your natural bone structure to shine through while still adding great definition and color to the face.  Keeping them simple and sleek will look sophisticated and clean. You can also opt for making a straight brow a bit thicker and fuller, similar to Cara Delevinge’s signature brows. Check out some examples of this brow shape:

3. Thick and Feathered Brows

Speaking of making your brows thicker, popular eyebrow shapes of late have been large and in charge! “Hairy”, thick, and natural brows are all the rage recently and this trend seems to be here to stay. You can get thick and feathered looking brows with brow lamination and other similar techniques. This makes your brows look full and fluffy, perfect for this popular shape. Opting for short & thick brows tends to give your face a more youthful look. Shorter brows with this style can also help make your face appear smaller if you have a longer or oblong face.  Longer feathered and full brows can also give a youthful appearance as well, but they also tend to look a bit more fashion-forward and chic. Here are some awesome people rocking this look:

Intrigued by the thick and feathered look? We don’t blame you!

This awesome & chic look can be attained with a simple technique called brow lamination.

4. Softly Rounded Brows

So far we’ve given you brow shapes that are generally bold and angled in some way. Even linear brows can appear “angled” or “sharp” because of the straight line it creates on your face. Just because a brow has an arch to it doesn’t mean it needs to be sharp or angular! If you prefer a softer and more girlish look, you can opt for the popular soft & rounded brow shape. This type of brow tends to work very well for those with sharp & naturally angled features, as it adds a nice softness to your look. You know the drill; here are some examples of people rocking this brow shape:
