Brow Lamination

Posted by Jennifer Ngo at November 5th, 2021

If you’ve been interested in trying brow lamination in Houston, we highly support your curiosity! For unruly, unpredictable, and untrainable eyebrows, eyebrow lamination can be the perfect solution! People want fuller, sleeker, and more luxurious-looking brows, and eyebrow lamination is a great option to fulfill eyebrow styling goals!

The process of maintaining your laminated brows can be a little complicated for those who are new to the service and aftercare requirements. Suppose you don’t know where to begin, and you’ve either never had eyebrow lamination treatment before or only had it done once or twice. In that case, it’s important to have the best knowledge available to ensure quality brow lamination aftercare.

We wanted to share this article so that you don’t have to fret after you leave the eyebrow salon and feel confident you’ll be able to maintain your eyebrows with quality aftercare. Here are some important aftercare steps anyone receiving the treatment should be aware of!

Brow Lamination Aftercare: The First 24-48 Hours

The first 24-48 hours after an eyebrow lamination are crucial. Avoid getting your eyebrows wet, and try not to touch or rub your eyes, regardless of itchiness! Stay away from direct sunlight, saunas, steam rooms, swimming pools, or tanning beds.

For the first 48 hours, avoid using exfoliating and anti-aging skincare products around the laminated area, and don’t use any fake tanning products for the first three days after brow lamination. Finally, try not to use any makeup for the first 48 hours, especially foundation - we know that sounds crazy, but it’s crucial for keeping the eyebrow treatment looking its best!

Maintenance

Brow lamination isn’t permanent, and that’s by design. The bonds will eventually break down so that you can manipulate them yourself. To do this, use a spoolie brush in the morning. These brushes will help keep your desired look for about 6-8 weeks after the treatment. Generally speaking, you want to avoid exposing your lamination to water, especially for the first 24 hours. Even so, it’s best to be careful in the shower and not get water directly on the brows.

What You Should Know

Lamination is a chemical-based process, meaning it can’t be removed easily. If you’re unhappy with the results, your lamination will fade after about 6-8 weeks. Until then, use a spoolie brush to set into your desired position.

To keep your laminated brows healthy, apply a conditioning serum twice a day; you can purchase a brow lamination aftercare gel. This type of gel perfectly shapes your brows in the style of your choice and increases the life of your brow lamination by another week or so. You can begin using this product 24 hours after your lamination. This product is nourishing and conditioning - this is key to avoiding damaged/frizzy brows!

Brow Lamination Aftercare: What You Shouldn’t Do

  • Don’t get your brows wet during the first 24 hours.
  • Don’t exfoliate or use anti-aging skin products for the first three days.
  • Don’t use swimming pools, steam rooms, tanning beds, or saunas for the first 48 hours.
  • Try not to rub or touch the treated area for 24 hours.
