Let’s do a quick recap on what lash lift and tint services are. No matter how much mascara you apply or how many touchups you perform, sometimes lashes need a more premium treatment, which is where lash lifting comes in. A lash lift is a moderately low-maintenance process that essentially “perms” your natural lashes into a lifted and curled shape that lasts for weeks. Clients fall in love with lash lifts because it saves lots of time in their daily lash routine and provides striking results. Lash tinting is also a low-maintenance/results-driven service that helps define your eyelashes with striking color and also removes any discoloration your natural lashes may have. Lash tinting is an effective alternative to at-home DIY products like powders and harsh dyes.

Lash Lift and Tint: Aftercare Routines - First 24hrs

So, what do you need to do after a combo lash lift and tint service when you leave the salon? Well, it’s actually more about what you SHOULD NOT do in the time after your treatment, rather than extra upkeep needed. For the first 24 hours after your treatment, remember not to do the following: - Put water on or near your eyes After a lash lift and tint service, water may be one of your worst enemies. If water comes into contact with recently lifted and tinted eyelashes, it can manipulate all the styling efforts that went into place. Water can potentially remove the curl and lift from the lashes, leaving them to misshapen and droopy. Also, if the tint dyes are not allowed to completely dry and set, the color can wash out/run - it’s no bueno! - Itch or scratch your lashes/eyes It can be tempting to scratch an area that’s had treatment, but do not scratch your eyes/eyelashes after a lash lift and tint service! Not only can you damage the lash shape and coloring, but it can also put your eyes at risk by involuntarily introducing the lash dye into your eyes. If you’re very itchy, you can apply a soft cold compress around the area to dull the irritation. - Sleep on your face We know this can be a tough one for all of your tummy-sleepers out there. But, it’s important for the first night, at the very least, you sleep on your back, so the lashes do not get bent out of shape, literally!

Lash Lift and Tint: Aftercare Routines - Continuous Care

-Use hot water or steam on your lashes This one is pretty straightforward; hot water and steam can damage the shape and tint of your lashes. So instead, use mild/cool water on your face. - Use oil-based serums, ointments, and conditioning treatments on the lashes. Oil-based products will dissolve the lash dyes much faster than normal wear. - Expose your lashes to harsh UV light Long overexposure in the sun or the tanning booth will degrade your lashes’ color and shape; avoid too much sun!
