Can Microblading Cause Headaches?

Microblading

Posted by Jennifer Ngo at February 26th, 2019

Microblading is the process of creating hair-like strokes with multiple blades to fill in your natural brows and accentuate the overall look, creating a very natural look. It is sometimes confused with general eyebrow tattooing, micro-pigmenting, micro-feathering, and other forms of eyebrow tattoos. Clients often ask if microblading can cause headaches. Microblading is the most natural looking of all the types of eyebrow tattoos. Although the concept can be similar, the results are different for each type of eyebrow tattoo process. It is the most natural looking because each tattoo is a true stroke that mimics natural hair. It makes your brows fuller with strokes, not with color coverage over a large area of space. If you are wanting the powdered makeup look or a bolder look, than powdered brows or micro-pigmentation or feathering should be added on to your service. Despite its popularity and longevity, can microblading cause headaches? Typically, no. It is rare for headaches to occur but they can occur in the first 24 hours due to the pain and sensitivity of your skin from the service. If there is a headache, it’s most likely caused by sensitivity. Headaches can also occur if you clench your teeth during the service or furrow your brows too much during the service and during the healing process. It is very important to relax and not build up tension around your temples and eyebrow area. In worst case scenarios, headaches can occur due to an infection. This is why it is super important to research your microblading artist! Review her work online, do the consultation, and ask any questions needed in order for you to be comfortable. Also, make sure all needles are fresh out of their sterile bag. Microblading-stencil-72
